There is a specific kind of pleasure in owning something that looks like it took a long time to make. This bowl is one of those things. Carved from Jaipur marble into the form of a bloom, petals curving upward and outward, the centre smooth and waiting. You can see the patience in it.

They come in four sizes, small enough for a windowsill, medium ones for a coffee table, large enough that a room notices it. Nest them together or scatter them across shelves; either way the effect is the same. A tea light placed inside turns the marble luminous from within. Fill it with dried rose petals or mogra blossoms and the scent carries all evening. Or leave it empty, sometimes the form itself is enough.
