Our Story

Barefoot at Home began with a simple belief — that the objects we live with should carry meaning. Not just beauty, but story. Not just style, but soul.

Where It Began

It started in the lanes of Jaipur — a city where craft is not a hobby but a heritage. Walking through workshops where artisans shape brass with the same tools their grandfathers used, where marble is carved by hand into forms that have graced Indian homes for centuries, we felt something shift. These weren’t just objects. They were living records of a culture that understood beauty as a daily practice. We wanted to bring that into homes everywhere. Not as curiosities or souvenirs, but as pieces that belong — that earn their place on a shelf, a table, a windowsill.

The Name

Barefoot at Home is a feeling as much as a brand. It’s the ease of a Sunday morning. The warmth of a room that has been gathered slowly, with intention. The quiet confidence of a home that doesn’t try too hard — because every piece in it was chosen with care.

We named it for the way we want people to feel when they walk through their own front door. Unhurried. Grounded. At home.

The Makers

Every piece in our collection is made by hand — by artisans in Rajasthan, Pondicherry, and across India whose skills have been passed down through generations. We source directly, visit workshops, and build relationships that go beyond transactions.

When you bring a Barefoot at Home piece into your space, you’re not just buying an object. You’re continuing a story that began long before us — and will continue long after.

What We Believe

We believe in slow living. In buying less, but better. In the kind of home that feels like a place of rest — not a showroom. In objects that age beautifully, that carry memory, that mean something.

We’re building Barefoot at Home one considered piece at a time. We’re glad you’re here.
